Parties: TOXIC AVENGER (Paris, FR) - Live in SA [Friday, August 28 (Cape Town) | Saturday, 29 August (Johannesburg)]

(Cape Town)

Press Release:

In the next slamming installment, Discotheque and Olmeca Dimensions are amped to bring you one of the hottest rising stars – The Toxic Avenger, a.k.a. Simon Delacroix: Electro thrash producer extraordinaire hailing from Paris, France.

As the growing independent dance scene keeps churning out all-night-long party DJs, and France continues to expand its domination of global club floors with its own brand of powerhouse electro-dance music, it's The Toxic Avenger who is quickly establishing himself as the latest Frenchman devastating dance floors worldwide.

Signed to IHEARTCOMIX Records, in 2007, The Toxic Avenger was named by Rolling Stone as "One of the 5 most influential electronic artists of the year" alongside Justice, LCD Soundsystem, Digitalism and Simian Mobile Disco. He has played along with many of the current greats including Black Lips, Yelle, The Teenagers, Vitallic, Erol Alkan, MSTRKRFT, Boys Noize, Kavinsky and Crystal Castles and the infamous Public Enemy.

Though dance-inducing electro remains his signature style, The Toxic Avenger draws from a number of distinct influences not directly related to the dance scene ensuring that his take on what keeps a dance floor heaving is never predictable. Taking cues from intelligent hardcore and punk, all the way to 60’s pop, The Toxic Avenger brings us a unique blend of melodic rage and screaming synths that create sonic epic audiences can lose their minds to.

Toxic is Dead, the first single from the currently untitled full length, is due to launch worldwide September 15th and will continue to propel the ever-growing mystique of the man behind the mask. Far from deceased, the Toxic Avenger’s ghostly orchestrations and pulsating rhythms, not to mention his colossal bass lines combine for a dangerous and deadly etherealness that is sure to slay dancefloors around the world straight into the afterlife.

The Toxic Avenger is currently on tour worldwide, playing in clubs and at festivals from Paris to Melbourne, Sao Paulo to New York. Next Stop…Cape Town, South Africa.

He'll be supported in Cape Town by Playdoe and Belushi.

Stay tuned for more thrilling adventures of…… The Toxic Avenger.

Press Release:

While France continues as the dominating powerhouse for electro-dance, the growing independent scene keeps churning out all-night-long party DJs, with The Toxic Avenger quickly rising as the premiere Frenchman capable of taking the dance floor to a new level.

Toxic (Simon DeLacroix) developed a noisy, scratchy and heavily saturated sound, but keeping a melodic line that sometimes recalls many Ed Banger and other French house groups. The Toxic Avenger has been made popular thanks to various podcasts, MySpace, and the two-dance floor killers that are Saloperie De Minimale and Superheroes. The Toxic Avenger has also expressed his talent throughout numerous remixes notably The Secret Handshake, Dragonette, Sexual Earthquake in Kobe’s "Love with ChloĆ« Sevigny", "Dance Among the Ruins" by Tommie Sunshine featuring Peaches, and Ladytron’s "Ghosts". His electro styling makes for remarkable slots of dancing hyperactivity.

Signed to IHEARTCOMIX Records, in 2007, The Toxic Avenger was named by Rolling Stone as "One of the five most influential electronic artists of the year alongside Justice, LCD Soundsystem, Digitalism and Simian Mobile Disco. He draws from a number of distinct influences not directly related to the dance scene and has played with many of the current greats including Erol Alkan, MSTRKRFT, Boys Noize, Kavinsky and Crystal Castles. He’s even played what is known as a 'Zenith' (a venue of over 10,000 people) in France with Vitalic, and completed two successful six-week tours in the US with IHEARTCOMIX founder and fellow DJ, Franki Chan.
